Objectives
The industrial design research area is committed to the application of scientific research methodologies towards the resolution of socially significant problems.

The goal of this research is to develop comprehensible systems and products that serve as a bridge between man and the technological advances that have revolutionized his world.

In order to pursue a broad spectrum of problems in areas such as transportation, design for disability, design for the aging, we have assembled an interdisciplinary team which shares a commitment to the humanizing of technology through Industrial Design.

Researches as member of a CIDI experimental team (1988/2000)
Investigations related to Industrial design inside FADU-UBA begun in 1988 with the creation of the Industrial Design Research Area (AIDI), coordinated by Prof.Dr Mario Mariño.

Due to the extent the investigations have reached, the area became the CIDI (Industrial Design Investigation Center) which at the moment depends of Secretaria de Investigacion,Ciencia y Tecnica (Secretary of Research, Science and Tecnology).

Projects (1988-2000)

Vehicle for Disabled Persons.
Design and construction of a vehicle for motor disabled persons in wheelchairs.

Robotics
Design of a robotized remote control handler to work as interface between the disabled person and his/her environment.

Mechatronic Interfaces
Design and development of hospital products for bed-ridden patients.

MDRU: Mobile Disaster Relief Unit
Research and design of a mobile emergency unit for disasters.

A Methodology for Designing Seats
Development of a projectual strategy through the operation of features of the chair as an object of design.

Technique's History and Theory
A display is made of the man's mastery of nature from the time
of his remote origins up to the present day technologies.

Kitchen for Disabled Persons
Ergonomic design of a kitchen environment por motor disabled persons, elders and visually handicapped persons.

Investigations

Development of a new pressure sensor as an ergonomic instrument for the creation and designing of interfaces destined to the disabled.

-Development of a mobile interface for the sterilization of patients in hospital confinement, as precaution against some pathologies currently found in Public Hospitals.

-Investigation, analysis and development of bionic models of mechanisms found on walking insects. Development of a mechatronic model to be applicable to a new land transportation vehicle.
